Supporting the Health & Wellbeing of Dancers
With over 15 years of experience working within Higher Education, Ashley's teaching is grounded in evidence-based processes that emphasise training in a balanced and mindful way connecting directly to what dancers experience in practice.
Classes and workshops are tailored to individual clients or students and can be practical, theoretical, or a combination of both. Practically she works with dancers using Pilates conditioning as the basis for complementary training with dance science knowledge underpinning her approach. Lecture-based workshops focus on the application of kinesiology and somatic practices within the dance context.
Dance for Health
As a researcher, Ashley investigates how dance can be used as a means to health and wellbeing for other populations including those with neurological and neurodivergent conditions.
She advocates for collaborative, person-centered approaches to research that place participants' voices and their embodied experiences at the heart of the work.
